Do I Need To Cross-Post?
When I make a new post, it appears on the Scribbles Explore page, and everyone who has subscribed to my RSS feed gets the update.
Do I need to cross-post to sites like Mastodon and Micro.blog?
I’ve been thinking about this because two of my blogs failed earlier this year, and I don’t want to repeat the same mistakes.
Looking back, things went off the rails because I tried to be active on multiple platforms, spreading myself too thin.
Social.lol and Micro.blog are great communities with friendly people, but cross-posting opens up a whole can of worms for me.
I enjoy participating in discussions but spend too much time checking my feeds throughout the day. I struggle to set limits.
It creates a strange, low-level anxiety that's hard to explain. I feel an urgency to respond quickly if someone likes my post or leaves a comment, even though there's no pressure to do so.
For now, I'll focus on posting to Scribbles, which will be challenging enough. Once I have established a daily writing habit, I'll consider cross-posting again.
